Love Em BIG & small...
Usually I am moving too fast and going non stop that I don't truly enjoy my days..
Nites are my friend, where I take time to sleep and stop, in hopes of quieting my mind and finding sanctuary.
Yesterday I took a moment to slow down, to spend the day with the animals and to truly play & have some fun with them..
Focusing on living in the moment and enjoying my time with each and every one of them.
It was a very bittersweet thing.. Looking into each face, wondering what their story is..
Knowing that even though each and every one may have different circumstances, but that they all had a common bond, one of ending up at animal control and sure death, if they had not come here..
Holding each one, feeling all the love they have, just waiting for someone to love them back and keep them forever...

We have all sizes BIG & small..
When considering an animal please think rescue.. There are rescues and shelters in all parts of the country. If you are looking for a purebred, there is a purebred rescue for every breed, just surf the web. Sometimes it takes time to get exactly what you want, but it's a long term commitment, so it is definitely worth the wait.
As the saying goes, "Don't breed or buy when shelter dogs die, adopt a rescued dog".
And please, please, never buy puppies from pet shops, if you question why please click here..

This is "Nova" she is a female German Shepherd, approximately 2 years of age. Super sweet and laid back. Good with other dogs and justing wanting to be your best friend.

"Pokey" is a male Great Pyrenees/Pointer mix. 9 months old and 90 pounds. He is a big guy with a lot of love to give. Super laid back, good with other dogs and cats. Needs leash training, we're working on it, but he is super afraid of things around his neck.

"Marlee" is a female Great Pyrenees mix. She is on the smaller side, weighing approximately 45 pounds at 9 months old.
A happy girl as you can see!!

"Zorro" is a male Min Pin mix. Approximately 2 years of age. He is a loving dog, but can be very cautious if he doesn't know you. He will need to learn to trust his new owner for someone was very rough with him at one time. He is very head shy.
Gets along great with other dogs.

"Snood" is a male Jack Russell Terrier. He is approximately 5 years of age and as you can see a low rider:)
Great guy, loves people!!! Does not get along with cats.

Sampson & Delilha are mixed breed pups. Approximately 12 weeks old.
They get along well with other dogs and puppies and just want to sit in you lap and chew your shoes:)

Our "Smiley" is another Great Pyenees mix. As you can see she is all smiles!!!

"Bogie" is smiling or is he laughing at me too?? (((giggles)))

COMMENTS:
Hi Bernie,

I've been reading your blog for a while now and am so inspired by what you do. Have you thought about writing a book on your experience with the rescue? I am considering starting a rescue and would definitely buy something you wrote. Keep up the work and definitely take a break...you deserve it!

Amie

They all look at you with the happiest smiles! They must love you so.

Beautiful dogs :)

If I didn't have 4 of my own I would love to have the dog in the last picture.

He's smiling and so beautiful.
